Thanks for Thanksgiving!

For the second year in a row we were able to spend Thanksgiving day with Mikes family in Utah. Growing up Thanksgiving was always a simple thing at my house. Just my parents, siblings and one set of grandparents. It was lovely to be together, but i always wished we had a huge family with lots of aunts and uncles and cousins to spend the holidays with. Maybe this wish was one of the many things that attracted me to Mike, because that is exactly what holidays are like at his house. This year we had 7 of the 8 siblings together at mike's parents house. During the week we were able to see several of his Aunts and Uncles and some cousins as well. It is so wonderful to have those family ties.

This year Thanksgiving happened to fall on Mike's mothers birthday. The siblings wrote a beautiful letter that they framed and put into a picture frame. It was such a sweet letter that radiated the love, honor, respect and gratitude that her children have for her.

The day was spent the way most families spend Thanksgiving. We ate a really delicious meal, sat around and talked, barley able to stay awake because we were in a food coma, watched some football, played a few games, went over to Mike's aunts house for dessert and enjoyed being together. It was a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for. I'm so glad there is a day designated for us to take a moment to remember and celebrate the blessings in our lives.
