Give Thanks November: Day 1 - Today I am grateful for electricity. Some thing that so many people around me don't have right now.
If anyone needs a hot shower, home cooked meal, some time to veg out in a warm house watching trashy day time TV-- Please come by, I even take meal orders :)
Give Thanks November: Day 2 - Gas.
Luckily I still have half a tank. But all the gas stations I normally go to are out of gas, the ones I did see with gas has long lines all the way down the street. Hoping by the time I need gas it won't be hard to find... Keep the tri-state area in your prayers. It's getting ugly.
Give Thanks November: Day 3- My bed/comforter
It is cold outside but I am warm and toasty in my cozy bed, and I get to sleep in it an hour extra tonight!! Bonus!!
Give Thanks November: Day 4- Music
Started listening to Christmas music this morning and starting rehearsal for The Messiah this evening. Nothing fills my soul with more joy, hope and happiness than music. Especially, when that music gives praise to my Lord and Savior for all the blessing in my life and His goodness, mercy and power!
Month of Thanks: Day 5- My pets (I don't want to say cats because I think it makes me sound crazy.)
Because they make me laugh and keep me company when Mike is working late. They also have a sweet vertical jump!
Give Thanks November: Day 6- Employment.
After a week and a half worth of "calamity days" I am going back to work in the morning. I am grateful to have a job that I love. I work with a great group of women and for a wonderful school. I've learned so much the past few years. It's truly been a blessing.
Give Thanks November: Day 7- Fuzzy socks.
There's a blizzard outside and the only thing that makes me feel better about it is my fuzzy socks. I'm now wearing my favorite pair, cuddled on the couch with Mike and sipping my first Hot Chocolate of the season. I guess the snow isn't so bad after all.
Give Thanks November: Day 8- Animal Crackers
I have been on a "no desserts" thing for a few weeks now and animal crackers have been my saving grace. I only eat a serving a day (I know they are made of refined flour- but at least its organic, thank you trader joe's) but they have kept me on the straight and narrow. Any time I get the craving I have a few animal crackers and I am good to go.

There is no part of the week I enjoy more than our weekly Friday night dinner dates. I love the time we get to spend catching up on the week events and reconnecting. #fallinginlovealloveragain — with Michael Jenson at Bartaco Stamford.

They are the comfiest, warmest shoes ever and they make me happy.
Month of Thanks: Day 16- To be an American
We are doing a unit on American symbols in class. The kids are learning about the flag and we have played "Grand old Flag" for them a lot. Today when it was on they all got really excited and tried signing along. Then when it got to "Every heart beats true for the Red, White, and Blue" they all sang really loud and proud. I couldn't help but get choked up as I saw some patriotism forming in the future leaders of our country. I had to fight off tears until the song was over. Hormones, who needs them?

Month of Thanks: Day 28- Good Professors at BYU-I (Brigham Young University- Idaho)
I received such a great education from highly qualified professors at BYU-I. I am continually reaping the rewards. I have been able to apply the teaching methods I learned there at work. I am also KICKING BUTT in Grad school because everything I am learning I already learned and internalized from them. Every night I am in class with confused peers I want to write a letter to the education department thanking the professors who taught me literacy. They did an awesome job, especially since I don't generally retain information well.
Month of Thanks: Day 29-that the week is almost over.
